L'objectif n'est pas d'emp\u00eacher la dilatation, mais de la permettre dans une direction contr\u00f4l\u00e9e. Exemple : Les trous de fixation des longues couvertures en aluminium sont souvent pourvus de fentes ovales ou en trou de serrure pour permettre \u00e0 la t\u00f4le de se dilater dans le sens de la longueur sans d\u00e9former les fixations.<\/p><p> <\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interfaces flexibles<\/h4><p> <\/p><p>Les joints en caoutchouc, les tampons en silicone ou les rondelles en polym\u00e8re peuvent absorber les petits d\u00e9placements caus\u00e9s par la dilatation diff\u00e9rentielle. Ils sont largement utilis\u00e9s entre des m\u00e9taux dissemblables, tels que les joints aluminium-acier, pour \u00e9viter le cisaillement et le bruit.<\/p><p> <\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">G\u00e9om\u00e9trie sym\u00e9trique<\/h4><p> <\/p><p>Une r\u00e9partition in\u00e9gale de la masse entra\u00eene un chauffage in\u00e9gal. La conception sym\u00e9trique assure une expansion uniforme, minimisant le gauchissement et les effets de \"bidon d'huile\" sur les panneaux larges.<\/p><p> <\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Construction segment\u00e9e<\/h4><p> <\/p><p>Au lieu d'un grand panneau continu, la division des assemblages en modules plus petits permet \u00e0 chacun d'entre eux de se d\u00e9velopper ind\u00e9pendamment. Cette m\u00e9thode est courante dans les panneaux architecturaux et les enceintes ext\u00e9rieures qui subissent des variations thermiques quotidiennes.<\/p><p> <\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prise en compte de la dilatation dans le tol\u00e9rancement<\/h3><p> <\/p><p>La dilatation thermique affecte directement la pr\u00e9cision des dimensions. Des conceptions qui semblent parfaites \u00e0 temp\u00e9rature ambiante peuvent sortir de la tol\u00e9rance lorsqu'elles sont chauff\u00e9es. Le d\u00e9calage peut entra\u00eener des contraintes localis\u00e9es, un desserrage des boulons ou une fissuration des soudures.
